Anna being of the firm belief that everyone is entitled to some indulgence – particularly of the Anna’s Cuisina kind – has developed, amongst the range of fruit cakes and puddings a selection that caters to diabetics, lactose and gluten intolerant persons. It was important that the flavour and quality expected of Anna’s Cuisina was maintained and that our clients were not presented with a cardboard flavoured and textured product, which was not as easy as it sounds! With an understanding of natural ingredients and specialist assistance Anna developed three fruit cakes and one pudding for those clients with special dietary needs.

Anna's Cuisina's No Added Sugar Brandy Fruit Cake
This fruit cake has been developed for diabetics and those who wish to mind their sugar and fat intake. Anna has eliminated the addition of sugar by utilising the sweetness of the natural sugars in the dried fruit. The pure butter has been replaced with a high quality vegetable margarine, reducing the saturated content of this fruit cake.
With generous assistance of Diabetes Australia (NSW) Anna is able to provide information concerning the carbohydrate exchanges in a recommended serving of 75g:
Serving of 75g = 33g of carbohydrate = 2 carbohydrate exchanges
Anna's Cuisina's Low Gluten Fruit Cake
This fruit cake caters for our clients with gluten intolerance. Anna worked closely with the Coeliac Society of Sydney, utilizing their extensive research into the unnoticed traces of gluten in food products. Anna has ensured that all ingredients used in this fruit cake are gluten free; almond meal and a maize starch being the base ingredients.
As Anna’s Cuisina does manufacture a wide range of products containing gluten we do caution that this fruit cake may contain traces.
